Man taken into custody as police respond to emergency incidents across two Brisbane suburbs

Queensland police say a 42-year-old man has been taken into custody as authorities respond to two emergency incidents in Brisbane's north and south which police believe to be linked.

Senior Sergeant Todd Sucic said the man was located inside a car in the inner-eastern Brisbane suburb of Coorparoo at 3:20PM before a declaration was made and specialist support teams were called in.

"We locked it down in a tight cordon with a view of planning for the worst and hoping for the best," he said.
