Father killed in Australia Day crash alongside young son identified

A father who was killed alongside his son in a car crash on Brisbane's bayside yesterday has been identified as Chris Vrbesic.

The 37-year-old Manly West man and his four-year-old son died when a blue Holden Commodore collided with a red Mitsubishi Lancer on Rickertt Road at the intersection with Chelsea Road in Ransome just before 9am AEST.

Vrbesic was pronounced dead at the scene and his son was taken to Queensland Children's Hospital, where he died.
